WebThe reason Baofeng and DMR got a really bad reputation is due to the DM-5R, which was a Tier 1 DMR radio, which meant it couldn't be used for most ham DMR applications. It was basically a massive flop. From what I have heard the RD-5R is a lot better, since it is Tier 2. If some other agree with you, then I will definitely get the TYT.
