The Physalis is found in the Old World as well as the New World. There are nine species in here in Florida and you would be hard pressed to tell some of them apart. Once removed from it, mature fruits are round, smooth, bright yellow to orange in color, and look like miniature yellow cherry tomatoes. They recommended pruning at 5 weeks. The yellow gooseberry (above) at ~2 weeks is 3x as tall as my orange hat so I wasn’t sure it if was similar to say, basil, and needed more aggressive pruning.
